The Electric Division is tasked with technical evaluation and providing recommendations to the NC Utilities Commission regarding critical electric industry issues such as generation plant siting, rates and tariffs, industry restructuring, transmission siting, pertinent rulemakings and an array of other general electric issues. Director reports to the Public Staff Executive Director.

The Electric Division consists of six engineers and staff secretary. Members of the Staff work generally with other members of the Accounting, Consumer Services, Economic Research and Legal Division.
